HOROSCOPE: Should you date someone that's the same sign as you?

Signs that are okay dating someone of the same sign

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

A Taurus is "probably the best match for same-sign compatibility. They’re very practical and stuck in their ways, so if this sign meets each other early enough, they can make things work between them.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

A Leo can also be a good fit for another Leo. It works because a lot of Leos aren't really arrogant. When the subdued Leo means business, the other one knows well enough to back down. This couple can be extremely fun, loving, and romantic together.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)

Libras go well together. So its okay for a Libra to date a Libra. This sign is all about partnership and balance. The only warning is that they both Libras must take the high road in the relationship. You both have to be committed to a union filled with love.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

Sagittarius can find happiness with another Sag pretty easily. Sagittarians need a very long leash and the luxury to explore the world. So, if each Sagittarius recognizes the space they need then it’ll be a peaceful relationship.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Two Pisces can also work well so its cool for you to date another Pisces but only if they're super committed and don't go off into their own heads and dream alone too much. Pisces is a sign of sacrifice, which gives them the ability to easily care for each other, which can make everything work in a relationship.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Virgos can often complement other Virgos. This sign is pretty much self-contained. Virgos can be chill and have good boundaries and communication skills, which they appreciate in each other.

Signs that SHOULD NOT date someone of the same sign

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Aries, beware of other Aries. A relationship between this sign will rarely work out. This sign can, very much be about themselves and it's tough for them to constantly make adjustments, to make the other person number one. Aries are also considered the child of the zodiac; so they want to be the one who is taken care of. You might bump heads too much.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Geminis can be tricky. It's hard for two Geminis to be grounded enough with each other to build something long-lasting. Being an air sign, it's helpful for a Gemini to have a partner that can "hold down the fort” because Geminis can be all over the place, so they need a more grounding sign.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Cancers don't do well with other Cancers. They're so touchy that, the two of them together is a lifestyle of passive-aggressiveness. You’ll be walking on eggshell all the time if you’re a cancer that’s dating another Cancer. For such a sensitive sign, they can be surprisingly insensitive.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

Capricorns should stick to dating other signs. Capricorns need to be in leadership positions in order to be comfortable, which creates tension when both partners want to lead and navigate the relationship. They can definitely bump heads.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 19)

Aquarius are not so great with other Aquarius. They go through extremes of wanting to be alone or with people all the time. So, if their internal timing isn't aligned, they can be like ships in the night, never coming together. They can also be emotionally detached, where "I don't care" becomes their catch phrase.

The only sign that’s right in the middle. It can be ok and not okay for you to date someone of the same sign.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

This can either be really good or really bad. Scorpios are extremists by nature, so the chances of one Scorpio balancing out the other isn't likely. They're both control freaks, which is fine so long as they like controlling different things, then it’ll work out. What really makes two Scorpios work, is them being romantics and very sensual. Now the main reason this relationship could work, is because of their dedication to the truth, which can create a very grounded foundation.
