It was heartbreaking to hear of the passing of Hip Hop legend DMX at the age of 50. After fighting for his life in a White Plains, NY hospital, the rapper, born Earl Simmons, died on Friday, April 9.
In a statement from DMX's family the iconic rapper has died. DMX was rushed to the hospital a week ago and placed on life support after going without oxygen for almost 30 minutes. The statement from a family rep said in part, "we are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50 years old....Earl was a warrior who fought til the very end". The family asks for privacy and says they will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.
