Manchester Survivor Returns To Arena To See Shawn Mendes Since Attack

May 22nd, 2017.

Can you believe its been 2 years since the bombing of Manchester Arena at Ariana Grande's show from her Dangerous Woman Tour? The attack unfortunately resulted in 22 fatalities. But since the bombing, fans, celebrities and the people of Manchester have continued paying tribute to the horrific night.

Marking the 2nd anniversary of the attack, people across the globe are taking to social media to share their condolences with the people who were affected. The symbol of 22 bees represents the 22 victims that were lost on that day two years ago. On Tuesday, K-Pop group, Blackpink performed at the arena and dedicated their song "Stay" to the victims. A message was projected behind them reading, "It's a privilege to be performing here in Manchester, especially at this time," and sent their thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families. Ariana posted a picture of a bee emoji and a black background via her Instagram story to honor the victims.

Amelia.

One of the survivors from that tragic night was Amelia. She was just 11 years old when she attended the Ariana Grande concert which soon turned into her biggest nightmare. As a result, she didn't talk for days and was understandably traumatized by what had happened. That night, one of the police officers carried Amelia to safety and nearly saved her life.

2 years later, she returns to the arena where she lived that tragic experience. She replaced "terrifying memories with happier ones," by seeing one of her favorite singers perform, Shawn Mendes. In the video, Amelia shares that her mom wasn't quite ready to return to the arena where she almost lost her daughter. After tweeting that she had no one to attend Mendes' concert with, the former police officer reached out and offered to attend the concert with Amelia. The two reunited and returned to Manchester Arena. After sitting down with a local news outlet to share her experience and horror from that night, Amelia was surprised with a meet and greet for Shawn Mendes before he hit the stage. She was ecstatic and tears were definitely there. This bravery just shows how the power of a terrifying moment can be replaced with something happier.

Shawn responded to the video on Twitter saying, "The sweetest girl I've ever met!! Love u Amelia!!"

Make sure to check out the video because it truly is touching and puts so much light on such a tragic day.
