A Jefferson County jury that convicted a Beaumont for murder has sentenced him to 55 years in prison. 32-year old Paul Edward Westbrooks was sentenced for the April 2023 shooting death of 31-year old Roven Dotson during a home invasion robbery in the 1800 block of Elgie in Beaumont. Westbrooks is also facing a capital murder charge in the death of 32-year old Ahmad Hayden during the same home invasion. A second defendant, Dijon Ivory, pleaded guilty and is serving a 35 year sentence.
