The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is alerting citizens of a new scam in the area. Residents
have been receiving an official looking letter in a perforated envelope that has a bogus
government seat and purports to come from “Benefits Suspension Unit, Jefferson County
Public Judgment records” No such office exists. It appears in the letter that the county is
threatening seizure. This is a scam. Do not reveal any personal information.
