Even Janet Jackson has insecurities. The "Made For Now" singer recently opened up about her long struggle with self-esteem in the October issue of Instyle

While talking about her past issues with body acceptance, Janet admitted that being photographed all the time did not help with her self-esteem. "Therapy helped a great deal with [my issues with being photographed]. I had to find something in my body that I loved, and that was difficult for me to do," she said before recalling her journey to self-love. "At first, I couldn’t find anything [I liked about myself]. I would look in the mirror and start crying. I didn’t like that I was not attractive. I didn’t like anything about me. But I wound up falling in love with the small of my back. And then from there I found more things. And then finally realizing my smile isn’t that bad after all. I thought I looked like the Joker because it was so big."

She added, "A lot of [my self-acceptance] has to do with experience, getting older. Understanding, realizing that there isn’t just one thing that is considered beautiful. Beautiful comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors."

The "All For You" singer said she feels like her best self when she's at home being a mom to her 20-month-old son, Eissa Al Mana"I feel like I’m being corny here, but it’s just the honest truth: I feel most beautiful when I’m with my son, because of the gift that God has given me and that he allowed me to do so at that age," she explained. "My baby is so sweet and so healthy, so happy and so full of love."
