"FACEBOOK KILLER DEAD: So-called "Facebook Killer" Steve Stephens, who killed a man in Cleveland on Sunday, sparking a five-state manhunt, has killed himself." Source: Fox News Channel Facebook
The Cleveland man accused of shooting Robert Goodwin on video and posting it on Facebook has been found dead in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania State Police confirm a white Ford Fusion was pursued by Erie Police around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday.
Police confirm Steve Stephens shot himself and died.
During a press conference, police said his Fusion was spotted in a McDonald's parking lot. A tip was given to local authorities and after a short pursuit, the car stopped near an intersection where Stephens took his own life.
A nationwide manhunt was underway for Stephens after he posted a video on Facebook Sunday claiming to have killed more than a dozen people and was off to kill another. The video has been taken down from Facebook.
Authorities are still investigating to see if there are other victims like Stephens claimed, but no evidence has been found.
Godwin was a grandfather of 14 and was walking home on Easter when Stephens randomly shot him, after asking that he say the name of a woman. Stephens claimed that name was the reason the man was going to be killed.
This is a developing story.
