Many of you know this family and their "story" but for those that do not.... Josh and Sarah Halter from Port Neches are parents of precious little Austyn who was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia when she was just 2 years old. The family became "our family" as Southeast Texas rallied around them and shared in their trials and triumphs, tears of joy and tears of sadness as they shared Austyn's journey with us which we are grateful they did. The beautiful angel that had a smile as bright as the sun and fought like a brave warrior until the very end which sadly was back on August 5th of this year. Austyn became "ours" and when she died, the entire community mourned the loss and our hearts broke for Josh and Sarah. Austyn spent much of her young life at St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis so this weekend the Halter family are in Memphis to run in the annual marathon to honor their child but ended up getting robbed.
