"Beaumont's water system could resume functioning earlier than expected thanks to a temporary pump created by Exxon Mobil engineers. Company spokeswoman Ashley Alemayehu said Exxon Mobil engineers worked with two other companies, Echo and Tiger Industrial, to install a temporary pump fueled by generators and other equipment that can move water from the Neches River into the city's water system. The low water pressure in some taps that residents woke up to this morning is part of the process of getting the temporary pump operational, Alemayehu said. The water still needs to pass through a treatment system before it can be turned on. She said the city needs to complete final steps before reactivating the water system."
