ICYMI: Scarlett Johansson Calls Bay Area Actor Out in Women's March Speech

It's been one year since the Women's Marches that took place across the world to raise awareness for the numerous issues affecting women around the world. To commemorate that anniversary hundreds of Women's Marches took place across the country, including here in San Francisco. Numerous activists took the podium at dozens of cities but there was one fiery speech that stood out, Scarlett Johansson's. Johansson returned to follow up her passionate speech from last year at the LA march, this time focusing on the #MeToo and the Time's Up movements. She also touched base on what she called a hypocritical move by Bay Area actor, James Franco, after her wore a Time's Up pin. Check out the speech below.

ScarJo didn't call out Franco by name, but her reps later confirmed that the statements were about the actor.

“How could a person publicly stand by an organization that helps to provide support for victims of sexual assault while privately preying on people who have no power? … I want my pin back, by the way.”

300 Hollywood women signed the Time’s Up coalition’s open letter addressing sexual harassment and systemic inequality rampant throughout workplaces. She didn't hold back towards Franco, or his well-documented, Instagram-based flirtation with a 17-year-old girl in 2014. In the wake of his Globes win, Franco was also accused of inappropriate behavior by several women. What do you think? Do you stand behind ScarJo's statement or do are you giving Franco the benefit of the doubt.
