Kylie Jenner Broke California's Non-Essential Travel Ban For Birthday Trip

If you take one look at Kylie Jenner's Instagram you might forget for a moment that we're currently living through a pandemic. According to E! News, the beauty mogul is celebrating her 23rd birthday with a trip to Turks and Caicos. Kylie is joined by her sister Kendall Jenner, BFF Stassie Karanikolaou and her 2-year-old daughter Stormi Webster.

While the Kardashian-Jenner clan is known for hopping on private jets and flying off to luxurious vacation destinations numerous times a year, this particular trip has caught the eye of many of Kylie's followers because of the timing. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the state of California—where Kylie, Kendall and Stassie are all residents—has issued a non-essential travel ban.

"You can travel for urgent matters or if such travel is essential to your permitted work," California's guidelines for travel reads. "Even though businesses around the state are opening up, avoid traveling long distances for vacations or pleasure as much as possible. This is to slow the spread of the coronavirus."

This isn't the first time Kylie—or the rest of her family, for that matter—have taken non-essential trips during the course of the pandemic. Back in May, Kylie traveled with her family to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's home in Cody, Wyoming to celebrate North West's 7th birthday. She also traveled to Utah with Kendall and their friends in July.
